Last Friday at 5pm I decided to head to Kansas for the weekend to hang out. It was a very relaxing trip filled with fishing in the morning, 4 lbs. of tuna steaks, raking, taboo, and napping. On the way home I was thinking about how lucky I was to not get a speedy ticket with ALL of the miles I have been driving since April when I moved to Arkansas. These thoughts soon came to an end when I saw the lights in my rear view mirror and realized I was being pulled over. The cop clocked me at 20 miles over the speed limit but only gave me a ticket for 9 over which came to a whopping $80.00. It could have been a LOT worse. Looks like I will be taking my time on the way home to Minny next week :)
Derrick has a CD in his truck that is track after track of guys using their duck calls. Here is a glimpse (if you close your eyes you would think you were in the middle of a gathering). And I wish I would have taped what we saw on the sidewalk that is referenced in the video. Let's just saw it looked like a red headed/bearded leprechaun on a tractor going down the sidewalk.
Jack took a snoozer.
Jaden marked our spot.
Jack found one of his lures, just not in the most favorable spot.
Jack and Jaden are absolutely hilarious. Very refreshing.
This guy had a stone fence around his ranch, which wasn't the standard acre lot.
The guy in the middle is duck hunting in his PJ's.
Horse apples.
We got up at 6:45 both Saturday and Sunday to fish. Saturday was not successful as 60 mph winds make it hard to cast out a worm or crankbait. I was glad to have a sweater that doubled as a scarf as well. Sunday was beautiful. Those are the pictures above. Us girls out fished the boys by # but not by size.
Jack got a catfish by the tail...
Cuddling up with a bulldog is very similar to cuddling up with 4 sand bags.
Jack's bait.
