I donated blood for the first time (EVER) yesterday at work. It had quite the effect on my body. The lady thought it was going to take me 5 minutes at how fast I was filling up the bag but no more than 30 seconds in I was inches from passing out. They tilted me back so that my feet were above my head and I immediately felt better. Then my flow slowed way down and so I told them to tip me up. As soon as I was sitting upright I was inches away again from passing out. Instead of taking 5 minutes it took 50. Oops. I walked away white as a ghost. aka GHOST WHITE. I ended up going to bed so early I got 11 hours of sleep. I will most likely donate again but just have a Thanksgiving meal before hand.
