Pesto-tortellini made in 8 minutes max.  With a good bottle of wine and a steady golf crowd, it is hard to get me off of my balcony right after work.  Somehow I still manage to get in my nightly run.

Bringing back old traditions with vanilla ice cream and Nesquik.  Only this time I don't fill a large bowl to the brim while eating from the gallon bucket-I will keep that for the younger years of speedy metabolisms. I try to keep it to a coffee mug.  It's all about moderation.

This was taken off of my balcony with my "mega" lens this week.  I had to zoom in to avoid the roofs of the apartments.  Sunset chasing might become my new hobby. I can't call it hobby yet as I have been too late to the scene EVERY time.

The roofs sneaked in this one....but the color is more of what I was after.

A bulb is not just a bulb

I have 4+ bulbs burnt out at my place and before I start navigating around with candles I figured I should take a more proactive approach. Have I been saving on my electric bill?  Hmm might have to re-think this.  Anyways, I will be returning light bulbs as clearly I failed on this episode of Tool time.  (Home Improvement)

Hometown Hero Event

Wednesday we spend half of the day at the Ford Theatre downtown Conway for an HP wide volunteer event.  We started off with a cajun crawfish boil.  I figured I would be safe with corn and potatoes....little did I know these were cooked in cajun spices as well.  My lips might have left the building and I may or may not have been trying to hide back tears.  The crawfish "mud bugs" were a different story. These people eat them like M and M's down here.

The hot dog was good and margarita mix was good.

The rest of the afternoon we broke out into teams and assembled a total of 50 bikes that are going to be given to Soaring Wings Ranch here in Conway as well as to families with members in the military.  Soaring Wings Ranch is a place where kids with no families, or broken homes, get a chance at having a safe place to live and grow up. It is a Christian based environment and a lot of HP people donate their time and money there.

Go-to lunch

For those of you who haven't tried the almighty black bean, avocado, and can of rotel. You MUST!  Place a cup of it on top of a spicy ranch salad, crunch up a few Doritos, and you have a make shift taco salad to die for!

6 for 1

I finally bought my first pair of golf shoes, now I don't have to wear these things anymore.  They were on mega-clearance at Academy Sports and the neatest part is that they have an interchangeable Nike swoosh so I can match them to my outfits :)

Steamed Cauli Salad

This may sound awful but Kyle and I found it to be a hidden treasure.  I convinced her to buy a steamer after she came to visit a bit ago and we made cauliflower crust pizza (amazing!) We had left over steamed cauliflower and decided to top our salad with it....both of us were drooling it was so tasty!

Early Bird

Now that it is lighter in the mornings as well as the evenings. If I am at home, I am on the balcony. Either working out (doing insanity or yoga) or drinking coffee, or looking at photography websites :) Otherwise I am at the pool getting bronzed.

Hard at work

Dickey Stephens

The UCA baseball team played at Dickey Stephens park last week down by the river in Little Rock so a group of us decided to show our support.  One of my friends brothers is the starting pitcher and of course when you hang around baseball alumni, there is no hesitation to go and cheer on a game. It was a gorgeous night since the humidity hasn't showed up yet! They ended up going into extra innings which made for a late thursday evening. Especially when the guys play baseball afterwards in the parking lot!
