Spring River

Friday we loaded up 3 vehicles full of people and beer and headed up to the Spring River just south of Missouri to camp for 2 nights and float. The 8 hours it took to float back to our campsite were definitely the most fun I have had in a long time.  We had our raft loaded with 4 extreme water guns, 3 coolers, and 5 bottles of sunscreen.  I saw some true Arkansas culture this weekend.  By the end of our float, the water level in our raft was flush with the top from being stuck on so many rapids.  Two people in our group had a canoe and it flipped on literally every rapid...The people in kayaks looked the smartest of all.  When its 100 degrees outside it doesn't even matter that the water is so cold it makes you numb, there many fly fisherman all along the river catching some gorgeous trout! Here are some pics,  I used my water camera so the pictures aren't the best.  We are kicking ourselves for not taking more pictures of some of the events along the way!!  My arms are so soar from paddling that I could barely turn the steering wheel today.

You can barely see the canoe on the left but these people got rocked.  I have never seen so many canoe rolls in one day.

Wade and Randy Rogers

The popularity of Texas Country down here could never get old!  Last Wednesday a few of us went to see Randy Rogers and Wade Bowen do an acoustic duo for their "Hold my beer and watch this" tour.  It was downtown Little Rock at a restaurant called the RevRoom and since it was so tiny there was not a bad spot on the joint.  It was the most laid back concert I have ever seen.  I love these guys even more now.  Their beer selection down here is not as good as up north and I ended up drinking Shiner Bock that night. Not too good.

Free, sure we'll go!

On Monday work handed out free tickets to the Traveler's game.  We figured it was something that couldn't be passed up so we piled a friends truck full of 6 people and headed over to Little Rock to Dickey Stephens Park.  Waiting for us were coolers upon coolers of free beer and free hot food.  It was the perfect night for an outdoor baseball game.  I have to admit that we really only watched about 2 or 3 innings because of all the work mingling and free consumption...I guess that's what happens when all your co-workers are 23 years old. They had us in our own picnic area which you can barely see down from 1st base on the picture above.

3 months later and I have drinking glasses

I was having a heck of a time settling on the glasses I was finding at the local Target and such around here.  Last weekend a friend and I went flea marketing all around here and I finally found my drinking glasses.  They were $0.50 EA and I absolutely love drinking out of them.  When I am walking over to a friends place I'll even fill one with wine and take it with me.

Some have handles, and some are straight up Mason Ball jars.  My favorite are my large "widemouth" ones.  I need to find more of these but they are few and far between.  They are also a little more expensive but soooo worth it.

I also got new cushions at Home Depot on clearance for $4.99! Table was from an amazing store called Garden Ridge in Little Rock (its like Ikea) for $5.00.

This here is RED CREAM SODA that I thought I'd try.  It sparked my interest at the grocery store.  The only way I can describe the taste is a rum and coke without the booze.

T or F

True or false, people in the sales field like to/are good at having a few cocktails.

Holy crap.

Arma-WHAT!

I saw my first armadillo on the way to work this morning.  Of course I had to share my excitement. When I came home over my lunch break, it was dead in the middle of the road close to where I saw it alive.  Sorry for making a good story turn bad but it's the facts!
They are very bizarre.
